On Thursday, June 5th, our team departed for Kyiv with two fully loaded vans carrying medical supplies and IT equipment for humanitarian organizations and volunteers across Ukraine.
The journey went smoothly, with good weather and minimal delays at the border. We arrived in Kyiv earlier than expected on Friday evening and were welcomed by the kindness that we continue to encounter throughout Ukraine. Despite preparing to close, a local food vendor made sure we had a place to sit and enjoy a warm meal after the long drive.
Saturday was dedicated to delivering aid to several locations in and around Kyiv. Thanks to the support of our donors and partners, the supplies were successfully handed over to the organizations and volunteers who need them most.
On Sunday, we visited Bucha, where a local researcher gave us a moving tour and shared insights into the war crimes committed during the Russian occupation in February and March 2022. It was a powerful reminder of why continued support for Ukraine remains so important.
The night before our departure, Kyiv faced another large-scale drone attack, making for a short and restless night. Early the next morning, with little sleep but another successful mission completed, we began the journey back to the Netherlands.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed to Trip 18. Your support allows us to continue delivering practical aid and standing alongside the people of Ukraine. Together, we continue to support Ukraine.
